Responsibilities:


As a Culinary Specialist and integral part of the Dining Services team, your primary responsibility will be to prepare nutritious, appealing, and visually enticing meals for our residents while ensuring the kitchen operates smoothly, efficiently, and safely.

Review menus and food preparation guidelines, crafting meals according to established recipes while adhering to portion control standards.

Supervise the preparation and arrangement of serving carts to deliver nutritious meals, beautifully presented and served promptly.

Adhere to safe food handling protocols during meal preparation, including proper procedures for covering, labeling, dating, and storing food.

Ensure that logs are completed accurately and promptly, including refrigerator, freezer, and production records.


Maintain sanitation standards by effectively cleaning work areas, including preparation and serving spaces, cookware, kitchen surfaces, walls, and floors, utilizing appropriate cleaning schedules and checklists.

Prioritize resident satisfaction and address any food-related concerns as necessary.

Other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent

• Minimum of 2 years' experience in culinary arts or full-service restaurant cooking

• Proficient in preparing and following established recipes

• Strong communication skills in English and excellent customer service abilities

• General knowledge of sanitation and safe food handling practices

• Basic computer skills preferred
