Key Responsibilities:
Fresno Madera Farm Credit is in search of a proactive and results-oriented individual to contribute to our dynamic team environment.

The Senior Accounting Specialist will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer of the Association and will be responsible for preparing financial reports and communications, managing internal control documentation, validating financial models, conducting financial reporting and analysis, monitoring budgets, and undertaking special projects within the Fiscal Department.


Specific Duties Include:

Committee Support: Prepares regular reports for the Asset Liability Management Committee (ALCO) and develops presentations for board meetings, monthly/quarterly senior leadership meetings, and various strategic committees of the Association.

Financial Reporting and Analysis: Aids in the preparation of monthly financial statements.
Drafts quarterly financial statements with accompanying footnotes and assists in the creation of the Annual Report, which includes disclosures and footnotes.
Evaluates financial data and trends to provide insights for informed decision-making. Internal Controls: Collaborates with supervisors to enhance processes and streamline procedures for improved internal control efficiency.
Maintains flowcharts that outline key processes and associated controls, identifies issues, and partners with process owners to resolve them.
Financial Model Validation: Assists in the assessment and validation of financial models.
Employs testing methods to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards.
Communicates validation outcomes and recommendations to key stakeholders.
Budget Monitoring: Prepares written reports, graphs, and presentation materials to convey financial and operational performance trends, both historical and forecasted. Generates standard monthly budget reports. Projects: Develops financial models and analyses to support strategic initiatives.
Provides in-depth analysis to support the Senior Management Team and Department heads.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Proficient understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and financial analysis.
Competent in using Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook to create, update, and save various documents.

Familiarity with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX).
Ability to perform complex financial analysis and create business reports that facilitate timely decision-making.

Capable of processing intricate, detailed forms and documents accurately and thoroughly.
Adept at working independently.


Effective time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks based on job responsibilities. Minimum Qualifications: 3-5 years of experience in auditing, accounting, public accounting, or related fields, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the position.


Education:

Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. Certifications:
