Job Overview:

This position entails executing general ledger accounting, reconciling financial accounts, crafting journal entries, and aiding in the month-end and year-end closing activities.

The Senior Accounting Specialist will also provide assistance during audits, budgeting processes, and adherence to accounting regulations.

Primary Duties:

General Ledger Management:
Maintain and refresh the general ledger by recording and verifying financial transactions.
Prepare and submit journal entries, including accruals, prepayments, and adjustments.

Account Reconciliation:
Reconcile balance sheet accounts, such as bank accounts, credit cards, and other financial records.
Investigate and rectify discrepancies by collaborating with various departments.

Financial Reporting:
Assist in the generation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Ensure that financial reports are accurate, timely, and compliant with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).

Month-End and Year-End Closing:
Engage in the month-end and year-end closing activities, including preparing supporting documents and reconciling accounts.
Assist in guaranteeing that all financial data is accurately documented and reported.

Audit Assistance:
Provide support during internal and external audits by preparing audit documentation and addressing audit inquiries.
Maintain records to substantiate financial statements and accounting documentation.

Budgeting and Forecasting:
Aid in the formulation of budgets and financial forecasts.
Analyze variances between actual outcomes and budgeted figures, providing explanations for notable differences.

Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
Stay informed about changes in accounting standards and regulations.

Process Enhancement:
Identify potential improvements for accounting processes and systems.
Assist in the adoption of new procedures or software to boost efficiency and accuracy.

Special Assignments:
Participate in special assignments as directed by management, such as system implementations or financial analyses.

Qualifications:

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
Experience: 1-3 years of accounting experience, ideally in a corporate or public accounting setting.
