Key Responsibilities:

The Senior Accounting Specialist will report to the Chief Financial Officer and will be responsible for generating financial reports, managing internal control documentation, validating financial models, and conducting financial analysis, as well as overseeing budget monitoring and special projects within the Fiscal Department.


Primary Duties Include:

Committee Support: Prepares regular reports for the Asset Liability Management Committee (ALCO) and develops presentations for board meetings and senior leadership discussions.

Financial Reporting and Analysis: Aids in the creation of monthly financial statements, drafts quarterly reports with accompanying notes, and assists in compiling the Annual Report with necessary disclosures.
Evaluates financial data and trends to provide actionable insights for strategic decision-making. Internal Controls: Collaborates with supervisors to enhance processes and improve internal control efficiency.
Maintains documentation of key processes and controls, identifies potential issues, and partners with relevant stakeholders to address them.
Financial Model Validation: Participates in the assessment and validation of financial models, employing testing methods to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
Communicates findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
Budget Monitoring: Prepares written reports, visual aids, and presentations to convey financial and operational performance trends, both historical and projected. Develops standard monthly budget reports. Projects: Constructs financial models and analyses to support strategic initiatives, providing in-depth analysis to Senior Management and Department heads.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Proficient understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and analytical techniques.
Competence in using Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook to create and manage various documents.

Familiarity with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) regulations.
Ability to perform complex financial analyses and develop business reports that facilitate timely decision-making.

Strong attention to detail in processing intricate forms and documents accurately.
Capacity to work independently and manage time effectively, prioritizing tasks based on job responsibilities.


Minimum Qualifications: 3-5 years of experience in auditing, accounting, public accounting, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience that equips the candidate to fulfill the essential functions of the role.


Education:

Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline. Certifications such as CPA or MBA are preferred.
