Position Overview

We are in search of a Manager for our Chemical Procurement Division. This position necessitates a technical degree, and possessing a Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) certification is advantageous. The successful candidate will have extensive experience within the chemical sector, particularly in purchasing and logistics related to chemicals. A solid understanding of macroeconomic influences and industry-specific dynamics impacting commodities is crucial, with additional familiarity in the Fats and Oils sector being beneficial.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the team responsible for procuring chemical raw materials
  • Guide and develop procurement and logistics professionals
  • Establish and oversee pricing strategies for new chemical materials
  • Negotiate critical raw material agreements in partnership with the CFO and Legal department
  • Resolve supply chain challenges, including supplier performance, unforeseen events, and quality issues
  • Serve as the expert on chemical market trends
  • Encourage collaboration with suppliers and internal teams
  • Implement self-management practices and utilize SAP Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) for order processing
  • Examine purchasing data to enhance sourcing strategies
  • Apply economic analysis techniques to evaluate value
  • Handle multiple tasks concurrently with a keen focus on detail and time management, keeping stakeholders informed
  • Work alongside quality, technology, and engineering teams to maximize value
  • Employ Microsoft Office applications to assess vendor proposals, compile reports, and analyze purchasing alternatives

Qualifications:

  • Technical degree (mandatory)
  • CPSM certification (preferred)
  • Substantial experience in the chemical sector
  • Prior background in chemical procurement and logistics
  • Insight into macroeconomic and chemical industry factors influencing commodities
  • Familiarity with the Fats and Oils sector (a plus)
  • Experience leading a direct procurement team
  • Strong analytical and negotiation capabilities
  • Proficient in SAP ERP and Microsoft Office applications
  • Exceptional time management and multitasking skills
