Job Summary

VanKirk Electric is a leading national electrical contractor that specializes in all phases of multi-family construction across the United States.

We are seeking a skilled Low Voltage Technician to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the different stages of Rough-in and Installation, as well as Programming of the project on All Low Voltage phases of the job.

Responsibilities
  • Determine project specifications by studying product design, customer requirements, contract scope, and performance standards
  • Walk buildings with superintendent, crews, and customers to ensure project progress and identify potential issues
  • Determine project schedule by studying project plan and specifications; calculating time requirements; sequencing project elements
  • Provide daily reports to Management on project progress and any challenges encountered
  • Maintain project schedule by monitoring project progress; coordinating activities; resolving problems
  • Control project plan by reviewing design, specifications, and plan and schedule changes; recommending actions
  • Terminate Low Voltage wires and program/troubleshoot systems
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by enforcing procedures, rules, and regulations
Requirements
  • Extensive knowledge installing and programming Honeywell fire alarm systems is a plus
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to travel as required
  • Strong work ethic and ability to multitask and juggle multiple projects
  • Must have own hand tools
  • Successful completion of pre-employment screening
