We are currently looking for a skilled and proactive Human Resources Specialist to enhance our operational success.

Position Summary: The Human Resources Specialist will be instrumental in cultivating a positive and efficient workplace within our firm. This role encompasses managing various HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, compliance, benefits management, payroll oversight, and performance evaluation. The ideal candidate will possess a solid grasp of HR best practices, a commitment to employee growth, and the capability to address the unique challenges of a legal environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Payroll Oversight: Manage and administer the payroll process, ensuring timely and accurate wage payments. Collaborate with finance and accounting teams to resolve payroll discrepancies and maintain compliance with tax and labor regulations.
  • Recruitment & Onboarding: Oversee the recruitment cycle, including job postings, candidate screening, interviews, and the onboarding process for new hires. Ensure a smooth and welcoming integration for all incoming employees.
  • Employee Relations: Act as the primary contact for employee inquiries and concerns. Facilitate conflict resolution, promote a positive workplace culture, and ensure the consistent application of firm policies.
  • Compliance Management: Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations. Maintain and update the employee handbook, ensuring all HR policies are current and effectively communicated.
  • Benefits Management: Supervise the administration of employee benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other firm-sponsored offerings. Coordinate with vendors and assist employees with benefits-related questions.
  • Performance Evaluation: Support the development and implementation of performance review processes. Provide guidance to managers on goal setting, feedback provision, and evaluation procedures.
  • Training & Development: Identify training needs and organize professional development opportunities for staff. Encourage a culture of continuous learning and career advancement within the firm.
  • HR Metrics & Reporting: Monitor and analyze HR metrics to guide strategic decisions. Prepare reports for management on HR-related topics, such as turnover rates and employee satisfaction.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of HR experience, preferably in a law firm or professional services setting.
  • Strong understanding of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution abilities.
  • Capability to manage confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
  • Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • SHRM-CP, PHR, or other relevant certifications are advantageous.
