The Sales Associate (Outside II) is a motivated self-starter with a professional demeanor who thrives on cultivating strong business relationships aimed at earning client trust and delivering value-added solutions. This role employs a consultative approach to manage accounts, offering the best product options necessary for landscaping projects to significantly enhance our business growth.

Key Duties:

  • Prospecting and Business Development: Identify new business opportunities through various channels including cold calling, email outreach, industry events, and networking.
  • Account Management: Proactively recognize and seize opportunities to expand sales with existing and potential clients.
  • Marketing Initiatives: Formulate marketing strategies to boost the commercialization of packaged products to garden centers and commercial landscape contractors.
  • Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong customer relationships through effective communication channels.
  • Customer Service and Product Knowledge: Acquire in-depth product knowledge to educate clients on our offerings and assist them with inquiries.
  • Operational Duties: Support walk-in customers in the showroom, prepare inventory orders, and process transactions efficiently.
  • Reporting: Communicate developments in accounts to the sales and account management teams and manage daily reporting tasks.

Essential Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant sales experience with a proven track record.
  • Intermediate proficiency in MS Office Suite.
  • Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
  • Commitment to exceptional customer service.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Strong presentation skills for diverse audiences.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with nursery products such as plants and landscaping materials.
  • Sales experience in a garden center or related field.
  • Educational background in horticulture or agriculture.
  • Bachelor's degree in business or marketing is advantageous.
  • Experience with CRM systems.
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English is a plus.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
  • Capability to lift 15 lbs. or more as needed.
  • Physical agility to perform various tasks including bending and reaching.

Work Environment:

Daily exposure to dust and moderate noise typical of an office setting.
