Job Title: Policy Advisor

Join our dynamic team as a Policy Advisor and play a pivotal role in shaping, supporting, and executing our public policy and advocacy strategy. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with our Land Planning and Entitlements Manager (LPEM) and the VP of Development to influence policy and regulatory efforts and achieve project approvals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Public Affairs and Policy Advocacy: Develop and maintain a network of policy leaders to stay informed on emerging trends and policies that could impact our company's assets. Provide strategic recommendations to guide our Internal Public Affairs Committee and influence key stakeholders to advance our company's objectives.
  • Project Management and Support: Lead zoning and regulatory analysis, coordinate entitlement processes, and work with internal and external teams to ensure successful and timely project approvals. Proactively navigate complex regulations, maintain project momentum, and overcome obstacles.
  • Influence and Collaborate: Motivate others to embrace change and guide the team through regulatory and political challenges. Foster relationships to ensure that our policy efforts align with our growth objectives in key markets, including San Diego, Austin, and Dallas.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree: Real estate development or related field ideally.
  • Public Policy Experience: 3+ years.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Initiative and Motivation: A keen sense of initiative, with the ability to motivate others and drive projects forward in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment.
  • Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, ensuring all tasks and projects are effectively managed.
Compensation:

The total compensation range for this position is $90,000 - $125,000 (inclusive of an annual bonus). Base pay may vary based on the candidate's knowledge, skills, and experience.
