Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Medical Assistant to join our team at Central Carolina Hospital. As a Medical Assistant, you will provide clinical support to patients in our physician practice under the supervision of the physician. Your primary responsibility will be to provide continuity and appropriate care to patients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate or learn to operate various medical equipment, including pulse oximeters, ear syringes, cryosurgery instruments, EKG machines, nebulizers, and portable oxygen tanks.
• Provide age-appropriate care to patients and maintain accurate records of patient interactions.
• Proficiently use Electronic Health Records to document patient information and communicate with healthcare teams.
• Perform phlebotomy and operate basic lab equipment to collect and analyze patient samples.
• Obtain prior authorization for medications, testing, and procedures as needed.
• Stay up-to-date with current vaccine schedules designated by the CDC.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Medical Assistant certification is a must.
• Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
• Prior experience in an ob/gyn office or clinic is preferred.
