Job Summary:
As a Clinical Support Specialist, you will provide clinical support to patients in our physician practice under the supervision of our physicians. You will be responsible for providing continuity and appropriate care to patients, ensuring their needs are met with a personal touch.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate or learn to operate medical equipment, including Pulse Ox, Ear Syringe, Cryosurgery Instruments, EKG machine, Nebulizer, Portable O2 tank, sphygmomanometer, and other medical equipment.
- Provide age-appropriate care to patients, utilizing your knowledge and skills to ensure their comfort and well-being.
- Proficiently use Electronic Health Records to document patient information and communicate with healthcare teams.
- Perform phlebotomy and operate basic lab equipment, with the ability to document results accurately.
- Obtain prior authorization for medications, testing, and procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Stay up-to-date on current vaccine schedules designated by the CDC.
- Schedule surgeries and triage incoming clinical phone calls and messages from patients, prioritizing their needs.
- Maintain proper inventory of medical supplies, ensuring our practice runs smoothly and efficiently.
Requirements:
- Associates degree required; Bachelors degree preferred.
- Registered Nurse in North Carolina (or compact state) is required.
- Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
