Primary Duties
  • Uphold Federal and State Laws, as well as County Regulations, including Ohio Motor Vehicle Laws
  • Perform routine patrols to deter crime and provide first aid when necessary
  • Investigate incidents and address community concerns
  • Gather and secure evidence
  • Manage traffic at events and oversee public behavior
Required Qualifications
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Minimum age requirement of 21
  • Possess a valid Ohio Driver's License
  • No felony or serious misdemeanor convictions
  • No history of Domestic Abuse offenses
  • Successfully pass all required tests and background investigations
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Maintain a good level of physical fitness
Additional Expectations
  • Complete volunteer hours as a Special Deputy
  • Acquire necessary equipment in accordance with department policies
  • Possess a current State of Ohio Basic Peace Officer Certification
