Position Responsibilities
The Senior Vice President of Strategic Initiatives in Urology is a pivotal member of the Senior Leadership Team. Reporting directly to the President of the Urology Business Unit, this role is essential for steering the strategic direction of a multi-billion dollar global business.
This position entails:
- Leading the development of a comprehensive marketing strategy that aligns with the overarching goals of the Urology Business Unit.
- Enhancing the organization’s value propositions across various platforms, ensuring cohesive strategies for shared target markets.
- Driving commercial excellence by implementing BD’s marketing and sales methodologies to refine go-to-market strategies.
- Collaborating with senior leadership to establish a unified global pricing strategy, enhancing profitability and ensuring effective governance.
- Identifying and negotiating new business opportunities that align with BD’s strategic objectives, conducting thorough assessments of market potential and financial viability.
- Overseeing the creation of the annual strategic operating plan to facilitate profitable growth and support execution.
Leadership and Management
This role involves direct management of a Senior Business Development Manager and indirect leadership of a global cross-functional team.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; an MBA is preferred.
- 10 to 15 years of experience in strategic marketing, pricing, and business development within the medical device sector.
- Exceptional negotiation skills and financial acumen.
- A thorough understanding of regulatory frameworks and market dynamics.
- Experience in product innovation and executing global initiatives.
- The ability to integrate various external factors into a cohesive strategic vision.
