Position Overview:
The OR Nursing Manager Operations embodies the mission, vision, and values of Northwestern Medicine, adhering to our Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program while ensuring compliance with all relevant policies, procedures, and regulatory standards. This role entails autonomous management of one or more teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily operations of assigned departments, divisions, programs, services, and/or locations. This includes defining workflows, managing staffing, reallocating resources as necessary, developing operational and capital budgets, and monitoring budget performance to ensure compliance.
  • Provide leadership, support, and supervision to team members, ensuring they possess the necessary competencies to address patient needs effectively and deliver high-quality, cost-effective care. This includes conducting performance reviews and facilitating the resolution of complex issues.
  • Collaborate with department leadership to establish and advance departmental goals, communicating progress and any necessary decisions to relevant leadership teams.
  • Ensure that departmental policies and processes comply with current Joint Commission standards and all applicable federal and state regulations, revising or creating policies as needed to adapt to evolving patient care delivery.
  • Manage escalations and interpret patient requirements, ensuring that care coordination meets age-specific needs.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

  • Proficient in budget creation aligned with organizational guidelines.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing with a master's degree or currently enrolled in a master's program.
  • A minimum of three years of nursing or healthcare experience with increasing responsibilities.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Current clinical license in the relevant state.
  • Magnet-recognized certification in the specialty area.

Preferred:

  • At least three years of supervisory or management experience.
