Job Description

Catholic Charities New Hampshire is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to serve as the Executive Director of the New Hampshire Food Bank. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the fight against hunger and food insecurity in New Hampshire.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leadership and management experience, with a strong background in food banking, non-profit management, or business management. They will be responsible for developing and implementing the strategic direction of the New Hampshire Food Bank, ensuring compliance with Feeding America contract provisions, and providing leadership in the planning and implementation of hunger relief initiatives.

The Executive Director will be responsible for:

  • Developing and maintaining a mutually positive, productive, collaborative, and trusting relationship with Catholic Charities NH's leadership and staff.
  • Establishing program objectives, evaluating program performance, and developing organizational structures consistent with policies and directives established by Catholic Charities NH, the Board of Trustees, and Feeding America.
  • Ensuring that the New Hampshire Food Bank is compliant with Feeding America contract provisions and participating in FA calls, regional and national conferences, and inspections.
  • Providing direction, supervision, performance evaluation, and support to senior management staff and assisting with ongoing staff/team development.
  • Overseeing the fiscal activities of the New Hampshire Food Bank, including budgeting, reporting, and the annual audit.
  • Developing and implementing plans for fundraising and procurement of major gifts and food donations for the organization.
  • Managing a donor portfolio and maintaining regular contact with donors.
  • Developing and maintaining positive, productive relationships with all potential sources of funding, including individuals, foundations, corporations, and government entities.
  • Advocating for state and federal legislation that supports hunger relief.
  • Providing leadership and community building to support the network of member agencies and their efforts to end hunger by strengthening the network of member agencies and other community stakeholders.
  • Serving as the Food Bank's chief public spokesperson in articulating New Hampshire's hunger problem and the Food Bank's mission.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in business administration, human services, or other related field or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Minimum of eight years' experience in food banking, non-profit management, or business management.
  • Experience working with a Board or Advisory Committee.
  • Documented success in leading fundraising activities in the not-for-profit sector.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities with strategic, policy, and budget planning experience in a complex organization.
  • A valid driver's license.
