Position Overview:
The Credit Portfolio Senior Officer I is a high-level role tasked with spearheading strategic risk management efforts for a portfolio of leading co-branded credit cards. The primary aim of this position is to optimize risk and returns through strategic initiatives that influence various products, while continuously monitoring the portfolios to identify opportunities for enhancing customer experiences by streamlining and automating risk processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Direct significant business initiatives and oversee the execution of projects, ensuring effective collaboration with senior stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain cross-functional relationships to support and implement business initiatives, including the development and upkeep of infrastructure in collaboration with the Centralized Risk Infrastructure team.
  • Evaluate risks associated with business decisions, prioritizing the firm's reputation and the protection of Citigroup, its clients, and assets by ensuring compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies.
  • Drive process enhancements and efficiency improvements by fostering a productive partnership with Audit management and leveraging consumer risk function expertise.
  • Conduct comprehensive gap analyses and remediate any discrepancies related to policy updates.
  • Provide ongoing feedback regarding initiatives, monitoring, and reporting on emerging trends and opportunities to senior management.
Qualifications:
  • Over 10 years of experience in credit risk management or related fields, preferably within the financial services sector.
  • Proven experience in managing medium to large-scale projects and influencing senior stakeholders.
  • Proficient in SAS or SQL programming and MS Office applications.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze data comprehensively while maintaining attention to detail to prioritize and deliver results effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, analytical, presentation, negotiation, and strategic skills.
  • Demonstrated capability to gain support and consensus among diverse internal and external audiences.
  • Exemplary work ethic and influencing abilities.
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required.
  • A Master's degree is preferred.
