JOB SUMMARY: The Metal Finishing Specialist is tasked with preparing and applying paint to assembled sheet metal enclosures utilizing an HVLP spray gun. Preparation duties encompass caulking, sanding, and taping units, along with transporting structures between various locations using heavy machinery. This pivotal role guarantees that the final product meets high standards of quality and is devoid of imperfections before delivery to clients. Your technical expertise, sharp attention to detail, and dedication to excellence will be vital in ensuring customer satisfaction and success.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Apply paint to assembled units using HVLP spray gun.
  • File, grind, sand, and smooth surfaces that are assembled or welded, using both power and hand tools.
  • Spray prepared surfaces with specified amounts of primers and finishing coatings.
  • Oversee painting operations to detect flaws, such as blisters or streaks, and rectify their causes.
  • Disassemble, clean, and reassemble sprayers or power equipment using solvents, wire brushes, and cloths.
  • Independently manage time, tasks, and workflows with minimal supervision.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred OR any combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the job duties (required)
  • 1-2 years of relevant painting experience (required); 3-5 years is preferred.
  • Experience in a production or metal fabrication environment is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in using HVLP spray guns.
  • Proven attention to detail; the small things matter.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Capability to function in a heavy manufacturing setting, requiring the employee to stoop, kneel, or crouch throughout an 8-to-10-hour shift.
  • Steady hand and arm coordination while moving or holding your arm and hand in a fixed position.
  • Ability to lift products, equipment, and tools weighing up to 50 pounds and push or pull items weighing up to 100 pounds.
  • Highly responsible with a strong dependability record.
  • Ability to safely work from ladders up to 20 feet.
  • Capacity to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Knowledge of job site safety and a commitment to maintaining a safe workplace.
  • Reliable attendance is essential (required).
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
