Key Responsibilities

The Respiratory Therapist RRT is responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-focused respiratory care in alignment with departmental standards and practices. Key duties include:

  • Administering and managing acute care ventilators for both short and long-term mechanical ventilation.
  • Working independently in the absence of the full-time Team Leader.
  • Maintaining accurate departmental and hospital records, ensuring data integrity in the hospital's information systems.
  • Performing all procedures with compassion and professionalism.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Florida Registered Respiratory Therapist license.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required upon hire; ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications must be obtained within six months.
  • Associate degree from an accredited Respiratory Care program.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including standing, bending, and moving equipment.
  • Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to work autonomously.
  • Effective communication and customer service skills.
