ROLE INTRODUCTION & RESPONSIBILITIES

The Business Development Manager (BDM) is a consultative sales position focused on initiating and managing direct sales initiatives with targeted legal firms and corporations. This role is pivotal in expanding our footprint by fostering relationships, particularly in high-demand markets.

The BDM will be tasked with securing projects related to discovery, digital forensics, data analytics, cybersecurity, and other legal technology services. Ideal candidates will possess a proactive mindset, high energy, and a strong drive for achieving results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and generate new client leads through targeted prospecting and marketing strategies.
  • Engage in direct sales efforts to penetrate key accounts, establish new relationships, and enhance account revenues.
  • Collaborate with senior management to expand and develop the company's business portfolio.
  • Coordinate with the Client Success team to efficiently execute projects and manage client expectations.
  • Monitor project activities across multiple engagements, providing feedback and resolving issues to maintain positive client relationships.
  • Assist in steering and managing business development initiatives, marketing, and training plans.
  • Support other senior management members to promote collaboration and cross-selling opportunities.
  • Evaluate potential business opportunities by analyzing market strategies and requirements.
  • Work with the Solutions team to accurately scope projects while setting realistic client expectations.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Participate in company meetings held bi-monthly, quarterly, and annually.
  • Report progress to the sales team during weekly meetings.
  • Submit and approve expenses in accordance with company policies.
  • May be required to undertake additional duties as necessary for business needs.

Qualifications:

A minimum of 7 years of proven success in B2B solution-oriented sales, with a demonstrated ability to develop new accounts and enhance existing relationships; experience in e-Discovery or litigation support sales is advantageous but not mandatory.

  • Demonstrated success in establishing and expanding relationships within the designated geographical area.
  • Familiarity with major e-Discovery tools and platforms is beneficial but not essential.
  • Experience in a collaborative sales environment.
  • Willingness to travel overnight 10%-20% of the time.
  • Ability to manage a large territory effectively.
  • Positive demeanor with the capability to cultivate and sustain relationships.
  • Proactive approach with a strong emphasis on follow-up and follow-through.
  • High energy level to maintain ongoing communication with clients and prospects.
  • Experience managing multiple projects with a commitment to delivering exceptional client service.
  • Strong understanding of the company's core service areas to develop client proposals and pitches.
  • Flexibility in work schedule to accommodate client needs outside standard business hours.
  • Ability to perform essential job functions with or without accommodation.

Compensation: Intelligent Discovery Sol offers a competitive compensation package, including a base salary, commission, healthcare benefits, and a training budget. The base salary ranges from $120,000 to $150,000, commensurate with industry experience. Additionally, business developers receive a commission of 6-12% based on collected invoices.
