Position Summary

We are in search of a talented Civil Estimator to become a vital part of our team, specifically concentrating on large-scale solar initiatives. The Civil Estimator is essential during the pre-construction phase, responsible for meticulously estimating costs related to civil construction tasks for extensive solar installations. Your expertise will help ensure our projects are competitively priced while upholding our high standards of quality and project timelines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop comprehensive cost estimates for civil construction tasks, which include earthworks, foundations, roadways, drainage systems, and landscaping for solar and BESS sites.
  • Evaluate project plans and specifications to ascertain material, labor, and equipment needs.
  • Work collaboratively with engineers, project managers, and procurement teams to guarantee precise cost inputs and competitive bidding.
  • Conduct site evaluations and assessments to collect essential information for accurate estimating.
  • Employ estimating software and tools to improve accuracy and efficiency in the estimating process.
  • Create, submit, and review subcontractor RFP scope documents to integrate into final project pricing.
  • Prepare and present detailed cost estimates and proposals to management and clients.

Note: Additional duties may be assigned as necessary to support the company's objectives.

Position Requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.

Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years of proven experience as a Civil Estimator in the construction field, ideally within utility-scale solar projects.
  • Proficient in estimating and takeoff software (e.g., Bluebeam, Trimble Business Center, AGTEK) and MS Office Suite.
  • Familiarity with estimating foundations is advantageous (Concrete, Pile, Helical, etc.).
  • Strong knowledge of civil construction methods, materials, and equipment.

Skills and Knowledge

  • Exceptional analytical and mathematical abilities with a keen attention to detail.
  • Capability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.

Working Conditions

This role may offer remote work options for qualified candidates, with occasional travel to project sites as necessary.

Reporting Relationships

The Civil Estimator will report directly to the Renewables Estimating Manager.
