Position Overview:

The Financial Accounting Associate Manager role is integral to our Corporate Accounting team, reporting directly to the Accounting Manager. This position is focused on overseeing technical accounting practices on a global scale and facilitating the BlackLine application within our North American operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and review balance sheet account reconciliations for North America and headquarters, acting as the backup Local Administrator for the North America region, and managing future BlackLine projects.
  • Ensure compliance with all Global Finance Policies and provide guidance as necessary.
  • Manage the budgeting process for Global Risk Management insurance expenses and consolidate the global budget for Special Items.
  • Act as a liaison for Global Internal Audit, managing the SOAR control frameworks.
  • Collaborate with Corporate Tax, Corporate Treasury, Shared Service Centers, Global Internal Audit, and Business Unit Finance to resolve accounting issues and ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Conduct accounting research and prepare position papers on significant accounting pronouncements.
  • Stay informed on external accounting developments and guidance to assess potential impacts on SC Johnson.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
  • A minimum of 6 years of relevant professional experience.

Preferred Skills:

  • Strong initiative, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication abilities and a talent for building relationships across all levels of the finance organization.
  • Capability to present financial data clearly and concisely to facilitate informed decision-making.
  • Experience with SAP and BPC is advantageous, particularly with SAP hierarchy and navigation.
