Role Responsibilities:
The Patient Registration Coordinator serves as the initial point of contact for all clinic and Orthopedic Urgent Care patients. Key responsibilities include:

  • Welcoming and registering patients, ensuring accurate verification of medical and demographic information.
  • Scheduling follow-up appointments and promptly notifying the clinical team of patient arrivals.
  • Providing general support and assistance to patients and teams, while performing various administrative tasks as required by our Revenue Cycle teams.

This position involves direct interaction with patients and necessitates a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service and quality care.

Work Schedule:
This is a part-time position based at our Lakeville clinic, with scheduled hours on Monday and Thursday from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Experience in medical reception or scheduling is preferred. Flexibility to assist at other Summit locations may be required.

Key Duties:
Efficiently and accurately complete all aspects of Registration and Scheduling Standards, including:

  • Registering and scheduling patients by collecting necessary medical and demographic information.
  • Collecting, applying, and reconciling co-pays and payments.
  • Obtaining and accurately entering insurance information while adhering to all insurance and scheduling protocols to ensure compliant billing.
  • Coordinating interpreters and Qualified Rehabilitation Consultants (QRCs) as needed.

Additional Responsibilities:
Prepare patient charts for the following day, manage couriered mail, postal mail, and faxes. Communicate effectively with teams and providers to ensure a seamless and positive patient experience. Manage and coordinate the retrieval of patient items, including records and medical imaging CDs, while ensuring proper authorization and documentation.

Assist with rescheduling patients when provider schedules change, and ensure that the patient lobby remains accessible, tidy, and organized. Perform various administrative duties and other tasks as assigned.
