We are currently seeking a Software Release Coordinator to enhance our expanding Internal IT team.



Key Responsibilities:

The Software Release Coordinator plays a crucial role in managing the packaging and deployment of software releases into production environments.

This role entails overseeing the release process throughout the entire pipeline, ensuring compliance with quality standards at each phase, and coordinating release activities across various levels including portfolio, program, and team.

The Coordinator will also enforce deployment schedules and release protocols by collaborating with software delivery teams, facilitate effective communication among stakeholders, and drive continuous improvement in release management practices.



Deployment Management:

Schedule and oversee the deployment of new applications and enhancements. Lead release activities during designated maintenance windows. Research and assess leading practices, tools, and technologies in release management to provide recommendations and optimize processes.



Release Operations:

Develop and maintain the IT Release Calendar, working closely with IT Development teams across various portfolios to ensure a comprehensive overview of all releases.

Submit change requests to formally document and schedule modifications to applications, aligning proposed changes with approved maintenance windows as per the Change Management process, and securing necessary approvals.

Assist in defining the strategic direction for release management tools as required. Play a pivotal role in measuring and monitoring progress to ensure alignment of application releases with planned expectations. Lead and coordinate go-live activities, including executing deployment plans and checklists, and conducting release readiness and milestone reviews.



Collaboration and Communication:

Work in partnership with business and IT stakeholders to ensure the reliable delivery of software and systems, aligning with business objectives and supporting operational processes.

Engage with executive team members and stakeholders to define business requirements and system goals achievable through enhancements in release management.

Collaborate with Change Management to ensure awareness and support for release efforts, ensuring compliance with established processes and procedures. Participate in Change Advisory Board (CAB) meetings to present changes and obtain approvals.



Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in IT, with exposure to release management or related functions.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required (a combination of education and experience may be considered equivalent).

Technical Skills:

Proficient in testing strategies and familiar with tools such as Service Now, Azure DevOps, and Microsoft Teams. Experience in software troubleshooting and application support is essential. Familiarity with overseeing the packaging, testing, and deployment of software releases, as well as knowledge of CI/CD practices.
