Key Responsibilities:
1. Administer and document medications and treatments under the supervision of a licensed nurse.
2. Monitor and record vital signs, including temperature, pulse, and respiration, ensuring accurate patient records.
3. Actively participate in treatment team meetings to discuss patient care.
4. Provide first aid for minor injuries and assist in emergency situations.
5. Manage and account for medications and related supplies.
6. Attend ongoing training and development programs to enhance skills.
7. Report any unusual incidents involving staff or patients to a licensed nurse.
8. Engage in emergency drills and respond effectively to facility emergencies.
9. Assist residents with personal hygiene tasks, including bathing and grooming.
10. Observe and report any signs of skin breakdown or other health concerns.
11. Support residents with bowel and bladder functions, ensuring their comfort and dignity.
12. Collect and label specimens for laboratory analysis as required.
13. Handle soiled linens with care and maintain cleanliness in the facility.
14. Aid residents in dressing and undressing, promoting independence.
15. Position bedbound residents comfortably and turn them regularly to prevent complications.
16. Change dressings and bandages as necessary.
17. Assist residents in preparing for activities and programs.
18. Provide physical assistance to residents using manual or mechanical lifts as needed.
19. Document residents' food and fluid intake, as well as bowel and urinary output.
20. Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisory staff.
Qualifications:
- Certification as a Medication Aide through a state-approved program.
- Ability to meet facility requirements and standards.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
