POSITION SUMMARY:

The Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) will act as the clinical authority within our skilled nursing facility, ensuring the provision of comprehensive nursing services to our residents. This role is pivotal in coordinating and supervising all facets of nursing practice, guaranteeing adherence to regulatory standards while fostering a culture of excellence and patient safety.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide strategic leadership to the nursing department, cultivating a culture of clinical excellence, teamwork, and ongoing education.
  • Oversee the training and professional development of nursing personnel, ensuring sufficient staffing levels and competencies to meet resident requirements.
  • Implement and uphold Sapphire policies, procedures, and clinical protocols to guarantee the highest standards of resident care and satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to formulate individualized care plans for residents.
  • Monitor and assess nursing care outcomes, identifying areas for enhancement and executing quality improvement initiatives as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with state, federal, and local regulations governing nursing practice.
  • Act as a resource and mentor to nursing staff, offering guidance, support, and clinical expertise to promote professional growth and development.
  • Engage in interdisciplinary meetings, care conferences, and quality assurance activities to advance resident-centered care and interdisciplinary collaboration.
  • Foster positive relationships with residents, families, and staff.
  • Utilize knowledge of standard precautions and infection control measures as required.
  • Guide staffing procedures and coordinate admission, nursing, and patient care processes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care environment, with a proven track record of effectively leading and managing nursing teams.
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking abilities, with the capacity to develop and implement comprehensive care plans based on resident needs.
  • Thorough understanding of nursing practice standards, regulatory requirements, and quality improvement principles.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary team members.
  • Commitment to delivering compassionate, person-centered care and advocating for the needs and preferences of residents.
