About The Trustees

The Trustees of Reservations is a non-profit conservation organization dedicated to preserving special places for future generations. With over 120 reservations open to the public, we aim to protect exceptional scenic, historic, and ecological values in Massachusetts.

Our retail team plays a vital role in showcasing local, sustainable products and promoting community relations. As a Retail Associate, you will be part of this dynamic team, contributing to engaging marketing and social media campaigns, while developing a general knowledge of online marketplaces and computer systems.

Job Description

This part-time, nonexempt position reports directly to the Retail Store Manager and the MetroWest Regional Vice President. You will perform daily operations, including creating a welcoming environment in our Farm Store, promoting Trustees Grown products, and assisting with inventory controls.

  • Provide exceptional customer service, educating customers about Powisset Farm and The Trustees, and helping them in a friendly manner.
  • Demonstrate familiarity with store products, upcoming property events or programs, and Trustees membership levels.
  • Resolve customer complaints, elevating to management as needed, and maintain high standards of sanitation and safety.
  • Assist with holiday online orders for in-store pickup, pack orders, and handle returns and refunds.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should possess:

  • Able to function independently and as a team member, adapting to new strategies and communicating effectively under pressure.
  • An engaging, outgoing, and respectful personality, with math skills for handling cash and experience with computers, smartphones, and POS systems.
  • Prior customer service and/or food service experience, with knowledge of agriculture, meat, and dairy products preferred.
