Job Summary

OrthoAlaska LLC is seeking a skilled Medical Assistant to join our team at University Lake Building, with the possibility of working at OPA Lake Otis. This part-time position offers a competitive hourly rate and a dynamic work environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Adhere to the scope of practice of a Medical Assistant, ensuring high-quality patient care and safety.
  • Room patients, take vital signs, and document patient visits in our electronic health record system.
  • Ensure exam rooms are stocked, cleaned, and maintained for patient visits, promoting a clean and efficient environment.
  • Comply with HIPAA, confidentiality, and state laws, maintaining the trust of our patients and staff.
  • Answer patient calls and follow up with patients, providing exceptional customer service.
  • Assist with patient scheduling as needed, ensuring seamless communication between teams.
  • Effectively communicate with patients, providers, and staff, fostering a collaborative and respectful work environment.
  • Maintain a professional presence, adhering to our organization's standards and expectations.
  • Report concerns to appropriate staff members, promoting a culture of open communication and transparency.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent, demonstrating a strong foundation in education.
  • One year of clinical experience working as a Medical Assistant or completion of an externship in a medical office, showcasing relevant skills and knowledge.
  • Certified Medical Assistant through the AAMA, Registered Medical Assistant through the AMT, or Licensed Practical Nurse certification with two years of clinical experience, highlighting advanced qualifications.
