Job Summary

The Manufacturing Engineering Intern position supports the Able team in providing direct engineering support for the repair and overhaul operations area to ensure that the production area has proper documentation and tooling. As a liaison between operations and quality, development engineering, and tooling, you will ensure that the production area has everything required to perform maintenance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Read, interpret, and develop technical blueprints.
  • Work to improve the manufacturing process to improve quality and reduce cycle time.
  • Assist Quality dept in identifying root cause and implementing corrective actions.
  • Assist in developing tools for design and fabrication processing.
  • Vet new processes to determine feasibility and cost.
  • Assist with improvement efforts with a mixed discipline team to drive waste out of internal processes, improving cycle times and maintaining quality.
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree in one of the following: Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering Technology (MET), Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Robotics Technology, or other related fields.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Collaborates and easily gets along in team-based environments.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Computer Proficiency (MS Office, CAD, etc.).

Candidates must be able to work onsite for the entirety of the internship program unless approved otherwise by the hiring manager.
