Job Summary

The Manufacturing Engineering Technician II (MET2) plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of automated manufacturing equipment. The MET2 will work closely with engineers to develop and refine manufacturing processes, ensuring high production performance and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement and maintain safety protocols and procedures in accordance with OSHA and company standards.
  • Troubleshoot complex automation systems, including electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic components.
  • Utilize the CMMS system to record and investigate maintenance history, ensuring optimal equipment performance.
  • Develop and create instructions for preventive maintenance and operating procedures, ensuring clarity and effectiveness.
  • Monitor and correct equipment faults in real-time, utilizing advanced diagnostic tools and techniques.
  • Perform preventative and breakdown maintenance activities, ensuring equipment is running at optimal levels.
  • Collaborate with engineers to design and implement new equipment or processes, leveraging expertise in PLC programming and automation controls.
  • Interpret and create mechanical drawings, utilizing power and hand tools, and test equipment to ensure accuracy and precision.
  • Replace and diagnose servo and stepper motors, as well as motor drive systems, ensuring seamless equipment operation.
  • Install and maintain equipment with circuits up to 480 volts, adhering to strict safety protocols and procedures.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, the ideal candidate will possess a technical degree or certificate, with a minimum of 3 years of manufacturing experience in a high-volume, applicable industry. A working knowledge of PLC's inputs and outputs, pneumatic adjustments, and common engineering testing procedures is essential. The ability to work effectively and professionally with all levels of employees and management is also crucial.
