Freedom Behavioral Hospital of Plainview, Texas, is a specialized 20-bed facility focused on acute geriatric psychiatric care. We are seeking a skilled Day-Time Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. Essential qualities for this role include teamwork, development, and training.
The selected candidate will take on leadership responsibilities for daily patient care coordination within the unit, ensuring adherence to professional nursing standards as mandated by TJC, federal, and state regulations. The RN will provide direct patient care in accordance with their nursing license and will assume the Charge Nurse role as needed, overseeing ancillary staff during their shifts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct oversight to nursing staff in the absence of the Director of Nursing, addressing relevant patient care issues.
- Engage in performance improvement initiatives through assigned chart monitoring.
- Coordinate nursing care delivery in compliance with established policies and standards.
- Communicate effectively with medical staff regarding patient concerns.
- Conduct timely and accurate patient assessments and document findings appropriately.
- Complete all necessary admission paperwork and ensure thorough documentation.
- Adhere to Human Resource policies, including code of conduct and attendance.
- Follow Infection Control and Employee Health Guidelines to maintain safety for patients and staff.
The RN will collaborate with the Service Development Department to facilitate timely admissions, maintaining knowledge of admission criteria and accurately documenting it for new patients. As a member of the treatment team, the RN will communicate patient goals, interventions, and assessments effectively.
Job Type: Full-time
Experience Required:
- Minimum of 1 year in Inpatient Medical care.
Licenses Required:
- Driver's License (Required)
- Texas Registered Nurse (RN) (Required)
- ACLS (preferred but not mandatory)
- BLS (required)
Work Authorization:
- United States (Required)
Nursing Degree:
- Associate degree in nursing (Required)
- Bachelor's Degree preferred.
Shifts are 12 hours long.
Compensation: Excellent pay and benefits package; a sign-on bonus is available.
