Patient Care Specialist

Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nursing Care Assistant I to join our team at Duke University. In this role, you will provide exceptional patient care support to Registered Nurses (RNs) and Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) by performing delegated tasks, administering treatments, and maintaining a clean environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare patients and equipment for procedures
- Obtain and record patient data, including vital signs and intake/output
- Provide personal care, including feeding, bathing, and changing clothing
- Assist with physical exams and procedures
- Perform fingersticks for blood glucose testing
- Clean and maintain the assigned area
- Participate in own professional development and support the development of other staff
Requirements:
- Completion of a Level I - Nurse Aide education program approved by the North Carolina Board of Nursing
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Currently listed as a Nursing Assistant I (NA I) with the Division of Facility Services
- BCLS certification
Compensation:
The estimated annual salary for this position is $35,000-$45,000, depending on experience and qualifications. This figure is based on national averages and may vary depending on location and other factors.
