Associate Director for Exhibitions Leadership Position

The J. Paul Getty Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Associate Director for Exhibitions to lead the development and implementation of the Museum's exhibitions program. This position is a key member of the Museum's Senior Management Team and is responsible for overseeing the Departments of Exhibitions, Registration, Design, and Preparations.
The successful candidate will have a proven track record of developing and managing world-class exhibitions programs, with a strong focus on innovation, creativity, and collaboration. They will be responsible for working closely with the Museum's Director and Associate Director for Collections to develop and implement the exhibitions program, as well as collaborating with colleagues across the Getty Trust.
Main Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement the Museum's exhibitions program, including the planning, design, and installation of temporary exhibitions.
- Collaborate with the Museum's Director and Associate Director for Collections to develop and implement the exhibitions program.
- Oversee the Departments of Exhibitions, Registration, Design, and Preparations, including managing budgets and staff.
- Work closely with colleagues across the Getty Trust to develop and implement exhibitions and programs.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior management role in a museum or cultural institution.
- A minimum of a bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
- Proven track record of developing and managing world-class exhibitions programs.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.
