Position Summary
Tactical Air is actively seeking an Aircraft Expediter to enhance our Maintenance team. This role is essential in supporting our fleet of fighter aircraft, backed by over 75 years of collective expertise in tactical aviation maintenance and more than 30 years in military adversary contract maintenance. Our Maintenance team consists of skilled, A&P-certified aircraft mechanics, technicians, and logisticians dedicated to ensuring safe and efficient ground maintenance operations.
Key Responsibilities
The ideal candidate for the Aircraft Expediter role will exhibit professionalism, high productivity, discipline, teamwork, technical proficiency, and responsiveness to the needs of the organization, colleagues, and clients. Reporting to the Senior Site Maintenance Manager, the Aircraft Expediter will perform various maintenance tasks, including organizational, intermediate, and limited depot-level maintenance. This encompasses inspection, operational testing, repair, modification, and troubleshooting of all assigned aircraft, components, and equipment. The role requires applying advanced technical knowledge to resolve complex issues and providing guidance and instruction to team members as necessary. Additionally, the Aircraft Expediter will oversee other mechanics and allocate tasks based on their skill sets, ensuring the line is prepared for daily flight operations while collaborating closely with Maintenance Control to guarantee aircraft availability and safety.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED with a minimum of 5 years of advanced technical experience in inspection, operational testing, repair, modification, and troubleshooting of aircraft and components.
- Proven experience in preparing the line for daily flight operations.
- Current work experience in the aircraft maintenance field, preferably within military or government aviation maintenance sectors.
- Experience with high-performance military aircraft (F-5/T-38) is preferred.
- A&P Certification or the ability to obtain it.
- Support Equipment Operator License (minimum: Tow Tractor, N2 Servicing Trailer, and Mobile Start Unit).
- Valid state driver's license.
- U.S. Citizenship with the capability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.
Preferred Skills/Experience
- A&P certification.
Physical Requirements
- Occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds (with assistance if necessary).
- Regular use of hands and fingers to manipulate tools and controls; reaching with hands and arms.
- Regularly ascend and descend stairs and/or ladders.
Work Authorization
- Must be legally eligible to work in the United States and complete a U.S. government I-9 Form.
- Tactical Air Support maintains a Drug & Alcohol-Free Workplace. Pre-employment, random, or for cause drug/alcohol testing (including for marijuana) is required.
- Occasional exposure to aircraft hangar or warehouse environments with loud noises, fumes from engines and chemicals, unpredictable climate conditions, and potential electrical hazards.
- May be required to handle hazardous materials.
- Specific work hours will be determined by operational, departmental, or contractual needs.
- Occasional evening, weekend, holiday, and overtime work may be necessary.
- Travel to various work sites throughout the U.S. may be required.
