Job Summary

Marathon Petroleum Corporation is seeking an experienced Machinist (Inside/Outside) to join our team at our Martinez, California facility. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of rotating equipment and mechanical systems. Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on rotating equipment and mechanical systems, including lubrication, bearings, couplings, shaft alignment, and other related tasks.
  • Use various tools and equipment to troubleshoot and diagnose issues with machinery and mechanical components.
  • Ensure all work is performed in a safe and environmentally compliant manner, adhering to site Health and Safety processes and Environmental regulations.
  • Collaborate with other maintenance team members to ensure efficient and effective maintenance operations.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Maintenance Foreman.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Completion of a recognized Millwright or Machinist apprenticeship program or trade school, or two years of verifiable journeyman level millwright or machinist work experience.
  • Ability to use hand/power tools, precision measuring tools, basic shop equipment, and other tools of the trade.
  • Previous experience and knowledge in the troubleshooting, repair, and installation of machinery, including lubrication, bearings, couplings, shaft alignment, centrifugal pumps, positive displacement pumps, pump packing, mechanical seals, fans, pully/sheave alignment, gearboxes, steam turbines, and valves.
  • Ability to wear appropriate PPE in the facility and be able to physically perform all tasks in the field.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the US without the need for future VISA sponsorship.
  • Must obtain and maintain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC).
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License with an acceptable driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Work experience in a refining, petrochemical, or other related industry preferred.
  • Centrifugal compressor and reciprocating compressor experience preferred.
  • Machining experience preferred, but not required.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and SAP preferred.
