This role requires a strong understanding of labor and employment laws, including federal and state regulations, anti-discrimination laws, wage and hour laws, and occupational injury. The ideal candidate will have a Juris Doctor degree and excellent writing, analytical, and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage matters arising in areas of labor, employment, employee benefits, and related litigation.
  • Develop and maintain strong working knowledge of labor and employment laws, including employee benefit laws, as they apply in non-profit and healthcare settings.
  • Work collaboratively with the Legal Department and other CHRISTUS Health staff to achieve results.
  • Provide customer service that is timely, professional, and courteous.

Requirements:

  • Four or more years of experience in a law firm or in-house setting practicing labor and employment law.
  • Unrestricted license to practice law in Texas or Louisiana.
