We are seeking a skilled Assistant Building Engineer to join our team at Paladin Consulting. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for performing general preventive maintenance and corrective repair of buildings, industrial systems, vehicles, equipment, and grounds.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform physical tasks such as stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and lifting/carrying heavy loads of 50 lbs or more.
- Monitor building system operations and performance under moderate supervision.
- Utilize trade skills such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, roofing, heating, and cooling to maintain equipment and facilities.
- Comply with all applicable codes, regulations, and Company directives related to building operations and work safety.
- Maintain equipment as required per preventive maintenance programs prescribed by manufacturer's specifications.
- Perform housekeeping functions and maintain the professional appearance of the property, equipment, engineering spaces, and common areas.
- Implement an energy management program to ensure efficient operation of all systems and minimize operating costs.
- Inspect building systems, including fire alarms, HVAC, and plumbing, to ensure operation within design capabilities and environmental conditions.
- Assist with troubleshooting and repairs of buildings and installed systems, including plumbing systems, kitchen equipment, roofs, drains, shop, and HVAC.
Requirements:
- 4+ years of experience in preventative building maintenance, including boiler, HVAC, and plumbing.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Dependability, problem-solving skills, and strong communication skills.
