Electrical Construction Project Estimator

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Construction Project Estimator to join our team at William Charles Construction. As a key member of our estimating department, you will be responsible for managing the electrical estimating activities, including pre-bid attendance, bid management, cost databases, and implementing/improving estimating practices.
Job DescriptionThe successful candidate will oversee the electrical estimating department and its personnel, ensuring effective communication and collaboration on estimates between all disciplines and parties. They will work closely with the Preconstruction Manager to achieve department objectives and develop department protocol for best estimating practices.
This role demands strong leadership skills, a comprehensive understanding of construction estimating, and the ability to manage multiple projects efficiently. The ideal candidate should have superior communication, management, and organization development skills, as well as experience with industry-leading estimating software.
Responsibilities include:
- Managing the firm's estimating activities, including pre-bid attendance, bid management, cost databases, and estimating software.
- Overseeing the electrical estimating department and its personnel.
- Ensuring effective communication and collaboration on estimates between all disciplines and parties.
- Working closely with the Preconstruction Manager to achieve department objectives.
- Developing department protocol for best estimating practices.

- Proven high-level construction estimating experience.
- Leadership and mentoring skills.
- Solid presentation skills and verbal/written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with industry-leading estimating software.
- Able to make decisions under tight deadlines.
- Proven hands-on experience in estimating.
- Ability to independently produce conceptual estimates.
