About the Role

UT Southwestern Medical Center is seeking a highly skilled Cytotechnologist to join our team. As a Cytotechnologist, you will play a critical role in the diagnosis and treatment of gynecological and non-gynecological diseases.

Key Responsibilities
  • Screen gynecological and non-gynecological specimens for abnormal cell changes
  • Microscopically examine specimens, including FNAs, to identify abnormal, precancerous, and cancerous changes
  • Identify infectious agents, including viral changes, fungal, and parasitic organisms
  • Enter results into the Laboratory Information System (LIS) and verify for report release
  • Assist with accessioning, processing, and staining of specimens
  • Participate in quality control procedures and document results
  • Assist with training and orientation of new employees
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • Certification as a Cytotechnologist by an approved accrediting agency
  • No additional experience required
