About the Role

UT Southwestern Medical Center is seeking a highly skilled Cytotechnologist to join our team. As a Cytotechnologist, you will play a critical role in the diagnosis and treatment of gynecological and non-gynecological diseases.

Key Responsibilities
  • Screen and analyze gynecological and non-gynecological specimens for diagnostic purposes
  • Identify and classify abnormal, precancerous, and cancerous changes
  • Recognize infectious agents, including viral changes, fungal, and parasitic organisms
  • Enter results into the Laboratory Information System (LIS) and verify for report release
  • Assist with accessioning, processing, and staining of specimens
  • Participate in quality control procedures and document results
  • Collaborate with clinicians to procure material from fine needle aspirations
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • Certification as a Cytotechnologist by an approved accrediting agency
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced laboratory environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
