Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to serve as the Director of Student Engagement and Conduct at Emory University School of Law. This is a key leadership position that requires a strong understanding of student development, conduct, and engagement principles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategies to promote student engagement and conduct, ensuring a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with faculty, staff, and students to design and deliver programs that foster student growth and development.
  • Provide guidance and support to students on conduct-related issues, ensuring compliance with university policies and procedures.
  • Manage the conduct process, including investigations, hearings, and appeals.
  • Develop and implement wellness programs to promote student well-being and resilience.
  • Supervise and mentor student employees and staff, providing guidance and support to ensure their success.
  • Serve as a liaison to the university Title IX office, ensuring compliance with Title IX requirements and regulations.
Requirements
  • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
  • Member (active or inactive) of a state bar.
  • Five years of legal practice experience, with a focus on student conduct and engagement.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate with diverse constituencies, including those from underrepresented populations.
  • Previous experience working on sensitive issues requiring confidentiality, diplomacy, and mediation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in higher education, with a focus on student conduct and engagement.
  • Knowledge of Title IX requirements and administration of Title IX within a unit of a university.
  • Demonstrated experience with wellness programs within the legal profession.
