BWXT Technologies is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical FIV Analyst to join its Advanced Technologies division. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise in the analysis and design of mechanical systems, with a focus on FSI and FIV.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform component stress analyses, including ASME and NASA Standard based analyses.
  • Use ANSYS to analyze components and optimize designs.
  • Interface with design and manufacturing personnel to ensure seamless execution of projects.
  • Utilize 3D CAD software to manipulate design models for analysis.
  • Perform engineering calculations in support of design/modeling activities.
  • Evaluate and suggest improvements to product designs and quality-related processes.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace, or Structural) or similar.
  • Minimum of four (4) years of experience in mechanical engineering/analysis.
  • Proficiency in ANSYS and experience with FSI and FIV.
  • Knowledge of ASME Section III and Section VIII of the Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code.
  • Familiarity with NASA Standard 5012B.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Desired Skills:

  • Proficiency in Solidworks.
  • Knowledge of ASME Y14.5 Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) Standard.
  • Prior experience in gas cooled reactor nuclear fuel mechanical design.
