Job Summary:

BWX Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Analyst to join its Advanced Technologies team in Lynchburg, VA. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing technical leadership and oversight on project-specific work, including delegating, reviewing, and self-performing activities.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering, with experience in stress analysis, 3D CAD design, and project engineering. You will work closely with design and manufacturing personnel to optimize and fabricate designs, and interface with other teams to ensure design work meets requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing technical leadership and oversight on project-specific work
  • Performing component stress analyses and using computer codes to analyze components
  • Interfacing with design and manufacturing personnel to optimize and fabricate designs
  • Preparing packages of drawings and associated documentation
  • Reviewing engineering drawings for correctness, tolerances, and manufacturability

We offer a competitive salary range of $81,000.00 - $123,000.00 per year, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, short-term disability, and service-based retirement contributions.
