Job Overview:

Securian Financial Group is seeking an accomplished Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Consultant to support FP&A functions and accounting for the business unit and reinsured business. This role requires a highly skilled professional with expertise in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting to drive business growth and strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and implement comprehensive financial plans, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Lead the development and maintenance of financial models, including budgeting, forecasting, and scenario planning.
  • Provide expert financial analysis and insights to inform business decisions, leveraging data-driven approaches to optimize performance.
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, including monthly and quarterly analysis and management reporting.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including Vice President – Institutional Retirement Products and CFO – Institutional Retirement Products.
  • Lead the analysis of reinsured business financials, including reconciliations of reinsured accounting, expense analysis, and profit & loss.
  • Develop and implement Excel-based models to project financial results and analyze components of earnings.
  • Participate in the development of annual operating, capital, and strategic plans, independently developing financial projections in alignment with strategies.
  • Manage projects related to improving procedures and systems to increase department productivity and the level of service provided to internal and external clients.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and communicate insights effectively.
  • 4+ years of experience in corporate accounting and/or expense analysis, with a focus on financial planning and analysis.
  • Experience with SAP or learning multiple ERP systems, with a strong understanding of financial and accounting concepts.
  • Experience building models in Excel or other similar tools, with a focus on data-driven approaches to financial analysis.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work independently with minimal guidance.
  • Ability to work at least 40 hours per week, with flexibility to adapt to changing business needs.

Salary and Benefits:

The estimated base pay range for this role is $69,500.00 - $129,000.00, with a strong potential for bonus and incentive pay based on individual performance and company results.
