The Financial Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing the financial and accounting functions within our division. In this vital position, you will manage financial activities and systems, establish and uphold accounting policies and procedures to ensure precise financial reporting, supervise internal controls, and lead the local finance and accounting team.

Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, the Financial Operations Manager will work closely with division leaders to promote business development.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide effective leadership to the accounting team to cultivate trust and enhance productivity.
  • Collaborate with division leaders on strategies for business growth.
  • Oversee month-end closing processes.
  • Monitor unresolved balances and assist the team in addressing outstanding issues.
  • Support job costing setup and closure within the financial system.
  • Conduct comprehensive analysis of job costs to support the bidding process.
  • Evaluate job margins by comparing bids to actual execution.
  • Work alongside the operations team to forecast production hours and overhead costs.
  • Review customer invoices and manage milestone billing.
  • Assist the accounts payable team with necessary support and management of open purchase orders.
  • Ensure accuracy in job costing time capture and labor reporting.
  • Develop annual financial budgets.
  • Assist in revenue recognition in accordance with applicable standards.
  • Identify areas for process improvement and potential risks.
  • Implement technological solutions to enhance efficiency and data accuracy.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or MBA preferred.
  • Prior experience in a major accounting firm is advantageous.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, with 10 years preferred.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage teams effectively.
  • Experience in multi-location environments with diverse teams.
  • Background in Inventory, Manufacturing, and Job Costing accounting.
  • Proactive in identifying personal and team needs.
  • Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with ERP systems such as Epicor or SAP.
  • Familiarity with financial tools like BlackLine, Power BI, and Concur.
