Part-Time Position with Weekend Availability Required

OBJECTIVE:
To execute thorough cleaning, scrubbing, and polishing tasks, along with general housekeeping responsibilities at the Rouse Estate.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Clean windows, woodwork, and draperies.
2. Vacuum, sweep, scrub, and maintain floors, including stripping, waxing, and buffing as necessary.
3. Dust and sanitize apartments, offices, hallways, and communal areas.
4. Dispose of waste and manage trash receptacles.
5. Clean lavatories and replenish supplies in both private and shared spaces.
6. Conduct annual cleaning of walls and windows, and as needed.
7. Maintain cleanliness of entryway runners or mats.
8. Sanitize furniture in residents' rooms as assigned.
9. Ensure thorough cleaning of areas around beds during resident transitions.
10. Manage recycling of used newspapers weekly.
11. Regularly clean dining areas, including floors, window sills, and furniture.
12. Assist in the distribution and collection of linens in the laundry department.
13. Report any unusual conditions or items to the management.
14. Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations.
15. Maintain an organized and clean work environment, including the housekeeping office and storage areas.
16. Participate in training sessions, workshops, and seminars as required.
17. Uphold residents' rights, ensuring privacy and respect for personal property.
18. Collaborate effectively with team members at the Rouse Estate.
19. Clean offices bi-weekly or as directed, including vacuuming, dusting, and trash disposal.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
1. Work is performed in various areas of the facility.
2. Requires sitting, standing, bending, and moving throughout the workday.
3. Subject to frequent interruptions.
4. Must be willing to work outside of standard hours when necessary.
5. Exposure to dust, cleaning agents, and potential hazards.
6. May encounter infectious materials and contaminated items.
7. Engage with all staff members regularly.
8. Use of cleaning solvents may necessitate personal protective equipment.

QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Ability to comprehend and follow written and verbal instructions.
2. Capable of performing routine tasks consistently.
3. Willingness to learn proper cleaning techniques and equipment usage.

SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS:
1. Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking in an understandable manner.
2. Ability to interact tactfully with residents, visitors, and staff.
3. Capacity to make independent decisions when necessary.
4. Knowledgeable about housekeeping standards and practices in assisted living settings.
5. Ability to work collaboratively with other staff members.
6. Problem-solving skills to address issues such as supply management and equipment use.
7. Openness to adopting new methods and principles in housekeeping practices.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
1. Must be able to move throughout the facility during the workday.
2. Must communicate effectively in English.
3. Ability to manage the mental and emotional demands of the role.
4. Must possess adequate sight and hearing, or use appropriate aids.
5. Flexibility to perform various cleaning tasks as needed.
6. Ability to climb ladders and perform physical tasks such as lifting and bending.
