The Insurance Follow Up Representative plays a critical role in the accounts receivables reconciliation process at Baptist Health Care. The successful candidate will apply contractual allowances, resolve patient and insurance carrier inquiries, and utilize online systems to verify eligibility and benefits.

Key Responsibilities
  • Examine and correct patient health information to ensure accurate insurance payment and follow-up

  • Utilize online systems to verify eligibility and benefits
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation on accounts worked
  • Apply proper account management principles to ensure accurate and timely follow-up
  • Identify non-payment trends by payer and notify management
  • Use worklist software to record activity on accounts worked and review productivity reports
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree
  • Six (6) months of relevant healthcare revenue cycle experience
  • Experience with healthcare insurance collections preferred
  • Ability to demonstrate medical terminology, written communication skills, verbal communication skills, Medicare regulations, coding, Excel, and WORD
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, meet deadlines, and work well within a team structure
