Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Office Assistant to support our mission at Community Assistance Network. As a key member of our team, you will provide administrative support to our Social Work Supervisor and contribute to the success of our programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative support to the Social Work Supervisor, including filing, screening calls, and completing administrative tasks.
  • Secure and maintain confidential and sensitive information, and ensure the upkeep of program brochures and fliers.
  • Provide orientation for incoming residents and present important information at shelter daily morning meetings.
  • Complete and maintain Daily Workshop logs, and enter Day Resource Program Data into Human Management Information System (HMIS).
  • Use business communication skills to promote and explain agency services, and provide customer service to visitors.
  • Responsible for receiving and submitting maintenance order requests, collecting, sorting, and distributing mail, and ensuring residents are aware of upcoming activities and meetings.
  • Visit the West Side Men's shelter 2x per month to audit and organize files to ensure agency compliance.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma required; AA degree preferred from an accredited college or university in Human Service, Business, Social Work, or Psychology.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, reading/writing skills, customer service, and office skills.
  • Knowledge of business/office etiquette, including business communication.
  • Ability to handle difficult or sensitive situations and make good judgment.
  • Experience working with homeless or at-risk populations; Human Service experience may be substituted for college degree experience.
  • Strong organizational skills, leadership skills, ability to work under pressure, and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Effective verbal skills and computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
