Medical Billing Specialist Job Description

Midlands Neurology and Pain Associates, P.A. is seeking a highly skilled Medical Billing Specialist to join our team. As a Medical Billing Specialist, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of billing, including accounts receivables, claims submission, and payment posting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage claim denials from insurance companies and resolve issues in a timely manner.
  • Communicate with insurance companies and patients regarding unpaid claims and billing inquiries.
  • Review and correct claims to ensure accurate and timely payment.
  • Monitor aging reports to identify and resolve unpaid claims.
  • Post payments and maintain accurate records.
  • Identify and resolve patient billing inquiries in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Perform various collection actions, including contacting insurance companies and patients by phone.
  • Utilize time and resources effectively to meet performance goals.
  • Communicate billing-related issues with management in a clear and concise manner.
Requirements:
  • Medical Billing Certification.
  • 3+ years of previous medical collections experience with general insurance billing practice knowledge required.
  • 3-4 years of experience in CPT & ICD-9/10 Coding.
  • Billing-related background in a physician clinic setting preferred.
  • Attention to detail, consistent, productive, and able to meet deadlines.
