The Cybersecurity Governance Manager will be responsible for establishing a strategic vision and comprehensive planning for the IT Security division. This role is crucial in evaluating the IT landscape against industry standards and benchmarks to identify vulnerabilities within the organization’s infrastructure, implementing protective measures to mitigate risks of cyber threats.
Key Responsibilities
- Formulate, uphold, and supervise information security policies, protocols, and control mechanisms to meet all relevant requirements.
- Identify and categorize critical information systems and assets, evaluate threats and vulnerabilities associated with those assets, and implement recommended safeguards.
- Implement the organization’s risk-oriented information security strategy with a scalable approach, balancing processes, delivering technical solutions, empowering personnel, and educating staff.
- Oversee the development, design, and documentation of security processes, procedures, and technical implementations.
- Train and manage personnel with significant information security responsibilities to ensure alignment of business processes and technologies with the organization’s security strategy, while clarifying roles and responsibilities in maintaining system and information security.
- Collaborate across departments to identify improvement opportunities and oversee the establishment and maintenance of security operations aimed at automated and continuous monitoring for the detection, containment, and mitigation of security incidents.
- Develop and maintain metrics and data to be reported to management regarding the effectiveness of the organization’s information security program, utilizing information from automated monitoring and security providers, including threat assessments and progress on risk remediation actions.
- Act as the subject matter expert in information security technologies and practices, collaborating with the Director of Infrastructure and Security, Head of IT, Legal, and other key stakeholders to ensure compliance with existing laws and regulations related to cybersecurity (e.g., GDPR, SOX, HIPAA, PCI-DSS, and other international privacy laws).
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience demonstrating analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, initiative, judgment, decision-making, and writing proficiency.
- 8+ years of progressively responsible experience in Information Technology/Security and at least 3 years leading a Security Engineering and/or Security Operations team.
- Experience in information security matters (policy, architecture, technology, etc.), with a proven track record in developing and managing an information security program.
- Specific experience in the pharmaceutical, manufacturing, or healthcare sectors, with a focus on FDA regulatory compliance, is preferred.
