Job Title: Community Mentor

Are you passionate about making a positive impact in a child's life? We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Community Mentor to join our team at Lad Lake Inc.

About the Role:

As a Community Mentor, you will work closely with a child in or near your home, engaging in weekly activities to achieve specific goals. This part-time paid position includes travel and expense allocations, with the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in a child's life.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Model positive behavior and act as a role model for the child.
  • Build trust through commitment and consistency, fostering a strong relationship with the child and their family.
  • Encourage the child to reach their full potential, providing academic support and guidance.
  • Maintain open communication with Mentee families and County Case Managers, ensuring a collaborative approach to the child's development.
  • Attend Plan of Care meetings when necessary, working closely with the child's support network.
  • Enter case notes for each contact with the Mentee, documenting progress and any challenges.
  • Report any concerns or issues to your immediate supervisor, ensuring the child's safety and well-being.
  • Attend training offered by Lad Lake Inc., enhancing your skills and knowledge as a Community Mentor.

Requirements:

  • You must be 21 or older, with a valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record.
  • Must show proof of 100,000/300,000 Bodily Injury Auto Liability Insurance and 100,000 Property Damage Auto Liability Insurance.
  • Must have good communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with children and families.
